General Race Information

Q. When is the Race?
   A. The Race will be held on September 9, 2017. The 5 Mile Race will begin at 8:00 am, the 1 Mile Race will begin at 8:15am, but activities begin at 6:00 am at Race village at 103 E Broad Street. 

Q. Where is the Race?
   A. The Race will be held at CityScape's Fall FunFest in Cookeville.  

Q. How much is the registration fee?

Earlybird Registration (April 1st - May 31st):

*Adults - Make sure to use the code earlybird2017 to receive these prices*

*Survivors - use the code survivor2017 to receive $5.00 off a Survivor Registration*

            Adults - $30

            Survivors - $20

            Youth (Ages 5-15) - $20

            Children (5 and Under) - Free but must still register

            Virtual (Sleep in for the Cure) - $30

Regular Registration (June 1st - August 25th):

            Adults - $40

            Survivors - $25

            Youth (Ages 5-15) - $20

            Children (5 and Under) - Free but must still register

Late Registration (August 26th - Race Day):

            Adults - $45

            Survivors - $25

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
   A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.

Q. What is included in the registration fee?
   A. You receive a Race bib, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, a Race for the Cure packet with goodies and a great feeling!

Q. How can I register?

Q. How will I receive my Race packet?
   A. Packet pick-up time and location can be found on the Packet Pick Up page

Q. How long is the Race?
   A. The Race is a 5 mile route. There is also a shorter route option (approximately 1 mile). You may choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We always need friends and supporters cheering on our runners and walkers. 

Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Upper Cumberland Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, email

Q. Are pets and strollers allowed at the event?
   A. Strollers are always welcome, we love our smallest supporters!  For the safety of the participants, dogs and other pets are not  encouraged on the Race course.  Please make arrangements for your pets prior to attending the Race.  

Q. What if it rains?
   A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.

Fundraising FAQ

Q. Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
   A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just Imagine the IMPACT - If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $150,000 to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in the Upper Cumberland community!

Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
   A. Yes! Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our community to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs.  The remaining twenty-five percent supports Komen’s national research and training grants program.

Q. Where do I send donations?
   A. You can bring your donations to the Race, or better yet, mail them to:   Upper Cumberland Race for the Cure 370 Reagan Street Cookeville TN 38501. For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include a Fundraising Form.

Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
   A. All donations on your behalf that are received by September 30, 2016 will be credited to your fundraising total.

Q. How do I form a team?

Q. What are the benefits of a team?
  A. Forming or joining a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved. 

Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
   A. Teams are not required to fundraise but we strongly encourage fundraising. Fundraising as a team can be fun. Click here to get a list of fundraising events your team can do.

Q. One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?
   A. Please contact us at 931-303-0096 or and we will correct this for you.   

Q. Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
   A. We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
